As a Deck Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all deck activities on the offshore platform. Your key responsibilities include:
- Safety Leadership:
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety, ensuring all activities comply with UK, Scandinavian, or EU North Sea safety regulations as applicable.
- Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks, fostering a safety-first culture among the deck crew.
- Operational Coordination:
- Manage and coordinate deck operations to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflow and resolve operational challenges.
- Personnel Management:
- Supervise and mentor deck crew, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Conduct regular performance assessments and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Equipment Oversight:
- Monitor and maintain deck equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to address any equipment issues promptly.
- Emergency Response:
- Lead emergency response drills and ensure the deck crew is well-prepared to respond to any emergencies.
- Implement and enforce emergency response protocols and procedures.
To excel in this role, you should ideally possess:
- Proven Offshore Experience:
- Extensive experience in offshore operations, preferably in the North Sea region.
- Familiarity with the unique challenges and environmental factors of the North Sea.
- Safety Credentials:
- Knowledge of and experience with UK, Scandinavian, or EU North Sea safety regulations.
- Possession of relevant safety certifications, such as NEBOSH or equivalent.
- Leadership Skills:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, demonstrating effective team management skills.
- Ability to lead by example and promote a strong safety culture.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with deck machinery, lifting operations, and other relevant offshore equipment.
- Basic understanding of maintenance practices and procedures.
- Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in a related field, such as a degree or certification in marine engineering, offshore operations, or a related discipline.
- Desirable: Additional certifications or training specific to North Sea operations.
