Responsibilities

As a Deck Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all deck activities on the offshore platform. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Safety Leadership:
    • Demonstrate a commitment to safety, ensuring all activities comply with UK, Scandinavian, or EU North Sea safety regulations as applicable.
    • Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks, fostering a safety-first culture among the deck crew.
  • Operational Coordination:
    • Manage and coordinate deck operations to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
    • Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflow and resolve operational challenges.
  • Personnel Management:
    • Supervise and mentor deck crew, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
    • Conduct regular performance assessments and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Equipment Oversight:
    • Monitor and maintain deck equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to maintenance schedules.
    • Collaborate with maintenance teams to address any equipment issues promptly.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Lead emergency response drills and ensure the deck crew is well-prepared to respond to any emergencies.
    • Implement and enforce emergency response protocols and procedures.
Experience

To excel in this role, you should ideally possess:

  • Proven Offshore Experience:
    • Extensive experience in offshore operations, preferably in the North Sea region.
    • Familiarity with the unique challenges and environmental factors of the North Sea.
  • Safety Credentials:
    • Knowledge of and experience with UK, Scandinavian, or EU North Sea safety regulations.
    • Possession of relevant safety certifications, such as NEBOSH or equivalent.
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, demonstrating effective team management skills.
    • Ability to lead by example and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Familiarity with deck machinery, lifting operations, and other relevant offshore equipment.
    • Basic understanding of maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Qualifications:
    • Relevant qualifications in a related field, such as a degree or certification in marine engineering, offshore operations, or a related discipline.
    • Desirable: Additional certifications or training specific to North Sea operations.
