Responsibilities
  • Conduct hydrographic surveys utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and technology to collect accurate seabed data.
  • Plan and execute surveys in compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and safety protocols.
  • Analyse and interpret survey data to produce high-quality charts, maps, and reports for project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to understand survey objectives and deliverables.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations in all survey operations.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain survey equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the development of best practices in hydrographic surveying.
Experience
  • Proven experience as a Hydrographic Surveyor in the offshore industry, with a focus on the North Sea region.
  • Familiarity with the safety requirements and regulations of the UK, Scandinavia, or the EU applicable to hydrographic surveying operations.
  • Proficiency in using hydrographic survey equipment, including multibeam and single-beam echosounders, side-scan sonars, and positioning systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant software for data processing and chart production, such as CARIS, HYPACK, or QINSy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in data interpretation and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Relevant qualifications in hydrographic surveying, marine science, or a related field are desirable.
