As an Offshore Hydrographic Surveyor, you will embark on thrilling marine adventures, utilising cutting-edge technology to conduct precise surveys and collect data that contributes to safe navigation and vital marine projects.


Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute hydrographic surveys in offshore environments using state-of-the-art survey equipment.
  • Conduct multibeam and single-beam sonar surveys to map the seafloor with exceptional accuracy.
  • Analyze survey data and produce detailed charts, maps, and reports for navigation and marine projects.
  • Collaborate with a team of surveyors, cartographers, and other marine professionals to achieve project objectives.
  • Maintain and calibrate survey equipment, ensuring consistent and reliable data collection.
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust survey plans accordingly to maximize operational efficiency and safety.
  • Implement and adhere to strict safety protocols to minimize risks during offshore survey operations.
  • Utilize specialized software for data processing, analysis, and visualization of survey results.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and quality control measures.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve survey techniques and explore innovative solutions.
Experience
  • Proven experience as an Offshore Hydrographic Surveyor or similar role within the marine industry.
  • Proficiency in operating hydrographic survey equipment, including multibeam and single-beam sonars.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrographic surveying principles, techniques, and data processing methods.
  • Familiarity with relevant marine surveying software and GIS (Geographic Information System) tools.
  • Excellent understanding of marine navigation and nautical charting practices.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse marine and onshore teams.
  • Physical fitness and adaptability to work in offshore environments with varying weather conditions.
  • Relevant certifications such as IHO (International Hydrographic Organization) CAT A or B, STCW, or others, are desirable.
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for exploring and mapping the ocean's depths.
