Marine Technical Superintendent Jobs in the North Sea

We are currently seeking experienced and highly skilled individuals to join several teams as Marine Technical Superintendents for multiple major operating companies in the North Sea region, encompassing the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, and the European Union. As a Marine Technical Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of marine assets, contributing to the overall success and safety of offshore activities in one of the most challenging and dynamic environments in the world.


Responsibilities
  • Oversee the technical and operational aspects of marine assets, including vessels and floating structures, to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs, conducting regular inspections, and coordinating repairs to guarantee the reliability and safety of marine equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, safety, and logistics, to optimize vessel performance and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising safety or operational efficiency.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes, integrating new developments into operational practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential challenges associated with marine operations.
Experience

Ideal candidates should possess:

  • Proven experience in marine technical superintendent roles within the North Sea region, with a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges posed by the local operating environment.
  • Familiarity with and adherence to UK, Scandinavian, or EU North Sea safety requirements, with a strong commitment to promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Relevant qualifications in marine engineering, naval architecture, or a related field, demonstrating a solid foundation in the technical aspects of marine operations.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, regulations, and standards, with the ability to implement and enforce compliance.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

While not essential, the following qualifications and knowledge are desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
  • Certification in safety management systems relevant to the offshore industry.
  • Familiarity with dynamic positioning systems and other advanced marine technologies.
