Responsibilities
  • Oversee the technical management and maintenance of the company's fleet of vessels.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure vessels comply with safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and plan scheduled maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking of vessels as required.
  • Work closely with vessel crews to address technical issues and provide guidance on maintenance procedures.
  • Monitor and optimize vessel performance, fuel consumption, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source and acquire spare parts and equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and ensure vessels meet statutory requirements.
  • Manage and lead a team of technical staff, providing training and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, implementing preventive measures to enhance safety.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to vessel technical operations.
Experience
  • Extensive experience as a Marine Technical Superintendent or similar technical leadership role in the maritime industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of marine engineering, vessel maintenance, and technical operations.
  • Familiarity with relevant international maritime regulations and industry best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage technical teams effectively.
  • A track record of successful vessel maintenance and management, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Sound financial acumen related to budgeting, cost control, and procurement.
  • Prior experience with various vessel types, such as cargo ships, tankers, or offshore vessels, is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in marine engineering or naval architecture are desirable.
  • A commitment to safety, environmental protection, and quality in all technical operations.
