Responsibilities

As an Offshore Crane Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of cranes on offshore platforms and in the offshore wind industry, where major projects are now moving ahead. Key duties include:

  • Operating and controlling cranes to lift, move, and position heavy loads, following established safety protocols.
  • Conducting pre-operational checks on cranes and associated equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Collaborating with rigging crews and other personnel to execute lifting operations in a safe and coordinated manner.
  • Monitoring and maintaining equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Adhering to emergency response procedures and participating in safety drills as required.
Experience

To be considered for these positions, candidates should ideally possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Proven experience as a Crane Operator in the offshore industry, with a focus on the North Sea region.
  • Familiarity with UK, Scandinavian, or EU North Sea safety requirements and regulations.
  • Certification in offshore crane operations, such as OPITO-approved competence assessments.
  • Knowledge of crane maintenance practices and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • High regard for safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Desirable: While not essential, the following attributes will be considered advantageous:

  • Additional certifications in rigging and slinging.
  • Familiarity with specific crane models commonly used in the North Sea region.
  • Training in advanced lifting techniques.
