Responsibilities
  • Design, install, and maintain electrical systems on offshore platforms and marine vessels.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure electrical equipment is operating at peak efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical malfunctions, minimising downtime and disruptions.
  • Collaborate with the marine engineering team to optimise electrical system performance.
  • Perform electrical testing, commissioning, and repairs as required.
  • Implement safety protocols and adherence to electrical standards and regulations.
  • Develop and update electrical schematics and documentation for future reference.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of electrical upgrades and retrofits.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to onboard electrical technicians.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in offshore electrical engineering.
Experience
  • Substantial experience as an Offshore Electrical Engineer or a similar role in the maritime or oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and control systems in an offshore environment.
  • Proficiency in electrical design and software tools relevant to marine applications.
  • Familiarity with offshore safety regulations and practices for electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to liaise with cross-functional teams.
  • A track record of successful electrical projects and upgrades in an offshore setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is typically required.
  • Certifications in offshore safety and electrical competencies are highly advantageous.
  • Physical fitness and adaptability to work in the challenging offshore environment.
