Responsibilities
- Plan and execute geotechnical investigations at offshore locations, adhering to UK regulatory requirements.
- Conduct soil sampling, in-situ testing, and data analysis to assess seabed conditions.
- Collaborate with offshore crews and geologists to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Interpret geotechnical data to provide valuable insights for foundation design and construction.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Evaluate potential risks related to soil conditions and provide mitigation strategies.
- Utilise specialized software for geotechnical analysis and modelling.
- Participate in project planning and decision-making processes based on geotechnical data.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in offshore geotechnical engineering.
Experience
- Substantial experience as an Offshore Geotechnical Engineer or in a related role in the UK offshore industry.
- Strong knowledge of UK geotechnical standards and regulations, including BS EN ISO 19901 series.
- Proficiency in conducting geotechnical investigations and data analysis in marine environments.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret geotechnical data and provide engineering recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and present technical findings.
- Relevant qualifications in geotechnical engineering or a related field, recognised in the UK.
- Experience in foundation design, seabed assessments, and offshore construction projects.
- Physical fitness and adaptability to work in the challenging offshore environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively under varying weather conditions.
- A passion for advancing geotechnical knowledge and contributing to the success of offshore projects.
