As an Offshore Rigger, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient lifting, rigging, and securing of heavy loads on offshore platforms and vessels.


Responsibilities
  • Rig and set up lifting equipment, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and industry standards.
  • Inspect and maintain rigging gear, identifying any wear, damage, or faults for timely replacements.
  • Work closely with crane operators and other offshore personnel to coordinate lifting operations.
  • Secure and stabilize loads to prevent shifting during transportation and offshore operations.
  • Adhere to safe rigging practices, including load weight calculations and sling angle considerations.
  • Conduct pre-lift safety briefings and inspections to ensure everyone is aware of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Rig loads according to specific project requirements and lifting plans.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of rigging activities for offshore projects.
  • Implement safety protocols and adhere to UK regulatory requirements throughout rigging operations.
  • Participate in emergency drills and promote a strong safety culture among the crew.

Experience
  • Substantial experience as an Offshore Rigger or in a similar role in the UK offshore industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of UK regulations and standards for rigging, including LOLER and BS 7121.
  • Proficiency in rigging techniques, sling configurations, and lifting equipment operation.
  • Demonstrated experience in safely rigging and securing heavy loads in offshore environments.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in rigging and lifting operations recognised in the UK.
  • Physical fitness and adaptability to work in the challenging offshore environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate rigging activities with other personnel.
  • Experience in the oil and gas, renewable energy, or marine construction sectors is advantageous.
  • A proactive approach to safety, with a focus on hazard identification and risk mitigation.
  • The ability to remain composed under pressure and make informed decisions during rigging operations.
