Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety procedures and protocols for offshore operations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Lead safety briefings and training sessions for offshore personnel.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing comprehensive reports with corrective actions.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics to assess and improve safety standards.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with UK safety regulations.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and provide guidance during crises.
  • Conduct safety inductions for new personnel joining offshore operations.
  • Stay updated on industry safety trends and advancements to enhance safety practices.
Experience
  • Substantial experience as an Offshore Safety Officer or in a similar role in the UK offshore industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of UK safety regulations for offshore operations, including HSE and UKOOA Guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing safety management systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Relevant qualifications in health and safety or a related field recognised in the UK.
  • Experience with incident investigation and reporting, with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Physical fitness and adaptability to work in the challenging offshore environment.
  • A proactive approach to identifying potential safety risks and implementing preventive measures.
  • Experience in the oil and gas, renewable energy, or marine construction sectors is advantageous.
  • The ability to remain composed under pressure and make informed decisions during emergencies.
