As an Offshore Survey Engineer, you will be instrumental in conducting precise survey operations, ensuring accurate data acquisition, and supporting vital offshore projects.


Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain sophisticated survey equipment for offshore data acquisition.
  • Conduct bathymetric, geophysical, and topographic surveys to chart the seabed and subsea structures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute offshore survey operations.
  • Process and analyse survey data using specialized software and techniques.
  • Generate detailed charts, maps, and reports based on survey data to support project needs.
  • Conduct quality control checks to verify the accuracy and reliability of survey data.
  • Assist in positioning and calibrating various survey sensors and systems.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to address survey requirements and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with UK regulatory requirements and industry best practices for offshore surveys.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and promote a strong safety culture among the survey team.
Experience
  • Substantial experience as an Offshore Survey Engineer or in a similar role in the UK offshore industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of UK hydrographic survey standards and regulations, including IHO S-44 and UKOOA Guidelines.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining survey equipment, such as multibeam echosounders and side-scan sonars.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting bathymetric and geophysical surveys in offshore environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills for accurate survey data analysis.
  • Relevant qualifications in surveying, geomatics, or a related field recognised in the UK.
  • Experience with positioning and GNSS systems, such as RTK and DGPS, is advantageous.
  • Physical fitness and adaptability to work in the challenging offshore environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities to liaise with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • A proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges during survey operations.
