As an Offshore Survey Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting with survey operations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate data acquisition in the dynamic offshore environment.


Responsibilities
  • Assist survey engineers in the operation and maintenance of advanced survey equipment.
  • Participate in bathymetric, geophysical, and topographic surveys to map the seabed and subsea structures.
  • Support the planning and execution of offshore survey operations.
  • Help process and analyze survey data using specialized software and tools.
  • Contribute to the preparation of charts, maps, and reports based on survey data.
  • Conduct quality control checks to verify the accuracy and reliability of survey measurements.
  • Assist in positioning and calibrating various survey sensors and systems.
  • Collaborate with the survey team to ensure efficient survey operations.
  • Maintain inventory of survey equipment and coordinate maintenance and repairs.
  • Comply with UK regulatory requirements and adhere to safety protocols during offshore surveys.
Experience
  • Substantial experience as an Offshore Survey Technician or in a similar role in the UK offshore industry.
  • Familiarity with UK hydrographic survey standards and regulations, including IHO S-44 and UKOOA Guidelines.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining survey equipment, such as GPS receivers and sonar systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting bathymetric and geophysical surveys in offshore environments.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for accurate survey data management.
  • Relevant qualifications in surveying, geomatics, or a related field recognised in the UK.
  • Experience with survey data processing software is advantageous.
  • Physical fitness and adaptability to work in the challenging offshore environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities to assist survey engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive approach to learning and contributing to survey operations in the offshore setting.
