As a Party Chief, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing survey operations, managing survey teams, and ensuring accurate data acquisition during offshore projects.


Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise survey teams during offshore expeditions, maintaining high-quality data collection.
  • Coordinate with project managers and clients to understand survey objectives and deliverables.
  • Plan and execute offshore survey operations, adhering to UK regulatory standards and industry guidelines.
  • Manage survey equipment and ensure proper calibration and functionality before and during operations.
  • Conduct pre-survey briefings to ensure the team is well-informed of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Verify and validate survey data, conducting quality control checks to maintain data accuracy.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive survey reports and charts to stakeholders and clients.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of survey procedures and methodologies.
  • Mentor and train junior survey staff, promoting professional growth and knowledge transfer.
  • Uphold safety protocols and environmental compliance throughout survey activities.
Experience
  • Substantial experience as an Offshore Party Chief or in a similar leadership role in the UK offshore survey industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of UK hydrographic survey standards and regulations, including IHO S-44 and UKOOA Guidelines.
  • Proficiency in conducting bathymetric, geophysical, and topographic surveys in offshore environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage survey operations, teams, and equipment effectively.
  • Relevant qualifications in surveying, geomatics, or a related field recognised in the UK.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex survey scenarios.
  • Experience with survey data processing software and technical tools used in offshore surveying.
  • Physical fitness and adaptability to work in the challenging offshore environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to liaise with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • A proactive approach to planning and execution, ensuring successful survey campaigns.
